Open Beta Rules
These rules keep the beta fair while every player has a single character and the economy starts from zero.
They apply inside Hearthroot and across its official community spaces, including Discord.
Effective 31st August 2026 - Rules version 2026-08-31
1. One player, one account, one character
- During Open Beta 2, each person may use one Hearthroot account and play one character at a time.
- Do not create, control, share or use extra accounts or characters to gain more storage, production, rewards, market access or progression.
- Do not evade an account restriction, suspension, character limit or other game limitation by creating another account or using someone else's account.
- Do not sell, lend, give away or otherwise transfer your account or character. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
- Separate people in the same household may each play on their own account. Each person must control their own account and must not share credentials or operate another person's character.
2. Play without automation
- Do not use bots, macros, autoclickers, scripts, modified clients, direct API calls or other tools that perform gameplay actions for you.
- Hearthroot's built-in idle timers, offline progress, queues and collect-all features are allowed. They are part of the game.
- Accessibility tools and extensions that only change presentation are allowed. They must not perform gameplay actions, send gameplay requests, expose hidden information or provide an unfair advantage.
- Every other gameplay action must be initiated by you through the normal game interface.
3. Do not exploit bugs
- Do not deliberately reproduce or benefit from duplication, reward, market, combat or progression bugs.
- If a bug creates items, currency or progress, stop using it and report it privately. Do not trade or transfer the proceeds.
- Do not probe, attack or deliberately disrupt the game, its services or other players.
4. Trade and play together
- Do not buy, sell or exchange accounts, characters, items, currency or services for real money or anything outside Hearthroot.
- Group play is encouraged. Players may coordinate, specialise, gift items, send supplies and trade at any mutually agreed price.
- Helping friends, Guild members or people in the same household is allowed, including one-sided gifts, as long as every participant is a separate real player using their own account.
- Normal undercutting, flipping, market competition and coordinated group trading are allowed.
- Do not use extra or shared accounts, real-world payments or exploits to disguise or fund transfers.
- Do not scam players, impersonate staff or misrepresent a trade.
5. Treat people fairly
- Do not harass, threaten, stalk, expose private information or target people with hateful or discriminatory abuse.
- Character names and other player-visible content must not impersonate others or contain abusive, hateful or sexually explicit material.
6. Remember this is a beta
- Progress, items, balances and systems may be changed, rolled back or reset when needed during the beta.
- Free beta Gold, Premium and other test benefits have no cash value and may be removed when the beta ends.
- These rules may change during the beta. Material changes will receive a new rules version and may require players to accept them again.
Reports and enforcement
Rule breaches may lead to a warning, renamed character, reversed trade or progress, removed items, temporary restriction, suspension or account closure. The response depends on intent, impact and repeated behaviour.
Report exploits and serious rule breaches privately through Discord. Access patterns and automated alerts are review signals, not automatic proof, so reports are checked in context before action is taken.
Moderation decisions may be appealed privately through a Discord support ticket. Do not publish exploit details or another player's private information as part of a report or appeal.
